Botanica and Dad

While Ben had off from school..we wanted to do one "fun" thing all together.
So we went to Botanica. I think as far as pretty flowers and nature goes, we were a couple weeks late. But the weather was perfect, so they had fun running around and playing...which was the point.

Afterwards, we went to see Dad in the hospital. He had back surgery this morning, so we stopped in to see how he was doing. Having just visited a hospital (when Jonah was born), Christian was really trying to piece everything together. He said, "it is kinda a better reason to go to the hospital when a baby is born." He was concerned for Grandpa and that he was hurting.

And the picture Christian drew when we got home for Grandpa to get better...
"its Grandpa."
(I think its cute...and I especially find the exact 7 hairs on his head to be quite funny.)

Botanica { fall 13 }

Ben had a day off from school due to parent teacher conferences earlier this week.
Crazy to think, last year when he had his day off we had Noah that day!
We decided to go to Wichita....eat at Freddy's and then went to Botanica. It wasn't as colorful as some years...but still lovely all the same.
Both boys did very well...Noah cooperated for some pre one year birthday pictures :) He is so funny about textures. We sat him in the mulched area...and he didn't want to move because he didn't like the feel of it...which worked out fine to take his picture :)

Ahh...I love fall.

Botanica in the fall

Ben had a break from school and we decided to do something fun.
We went to the Botanica Gardens. I had never been in the fall, and to be honest I was a little skeptical that it was going to be pretty. Needless to say..I was wrong. It was beautiful!

Welcome to the kid land at Botanica...it is pretty amazing.

Rainbow tunnels,  a play house, an AWESOME tree house, wooden logs (tunnels), musical instruments, and an "enchanted Glen" which consisted of The Hungry Caterpillar figures.

And then more BEAUTIFUL scenery on our way out. This willow tree was amazing with the water and fall leaves surrounding it.

I was glad we went. It was just as pretty if not more than the other times I've been in the spring. And now with the children's area available, we may have to visit more often!
