Easter [2016]

Christ died for us, much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved.
Romans 5:8,9

In the middle of the night, Jonah woke us up. As Ben came back to bed, he said you have to look outside, you won't believe it.

This is what I saw...

When we woke up, the boys were all very surprised as well.
It was Easter! And it snowed, ALOT! It was beautiful though.

As I was walking around outside, it was so pretty.
One of my favorite songs came to mind...

O! Precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

There was a broad scope of faces and noises going on during these pictures...
Noah especially, oh my goodness.

After church we went to Great Grandpa and Grandma Hershberger's house for an extended family gathering. It was nice to see who could make it, it had been awhile since the Christmas gathering was cancelled due to snow/ice.
The boys were entertained...
Grandma H hid Easter eggs in the house for the boys, and Great Grandpa got out the marble run.

We came home for naps. Then hid Easter eggs in our basement, before heading over to my parents house for supper.

We had another delicious meal at Mom and Dad's...and had this very festive cake for dessert.

And of course we had an Easter egg hunt for ALL!
It will be a sad day when we are "too old" for that.
The weather actually was really nice by the time late afternoon/evening came, but it was too muddy to do the hunt outside.

What a wonderful day we can celebrate that Jesus is alive, and He died for US!
What a gift. I love that both Christian and now Noah, verbalize the reason for Easter. They have such a genuine desire to learn about the Bible, and love to share the stories.

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once and for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

March happenings

This month is flying by!!
Here is assortment of randomness from this month.

For Palm Sunday, Christian and Noah joined the rest of the kids in church in singing and waving palm branches.

My Easter cookie helpers!

At Grandpa and Grandma's house...the very classic game of getting Grandpa on the floor and tickling him. All three boys are a pretty big fan of this game...well, four including Grandpa.

Noah finished his 100 piece puzzle..with some sorting help from mama.
He is also sporting his new glasses. He had just got new ones not too long ago, but they never fit his face very well. We are well taken care of by the eye doctors office.

Noah is usually very snuggable, lovable, and extra eager to let me hold him when he first wakes up.

This is pretty much Jonah right now...
doesn't stop moving (unless he is sleeping).

Guilty? yes
Potty training? yes
Going well? no
At the library without any diapers inside? yes
Pooped and peed his pants terribly? yes
Leaving the library with a coat for a skirt? yes
Frustrated mama? um....YES.

 Christian is part monkey.
He loves loves loves to climb trees. This one is at Grandpa and Grandma's house.

I love them so much.

Spring Break

The only 'project' we had over spring break was to fill the sandbox underneath the tree house...with enough for an extra little pile.

Extra time playing with Daddy.
Wrestling, tickling (tick-a-tick-a-tick-a by Jonah), and Noah being a human bulldozer

Extra time to just lounge around...and listen to Adventures in Odyssey on cassette tape! Christian is quite pleased with himself that he can run the tape player by himself...and loves to listen to the stories.

I got a grocery helper...
and when we pulled into the parking lot, it was snowing....alot!!

Tower building brothers...and a third who is looking to tackle.

Plenty of time spent outdoors.

Christian insisted on wearing this scarf headband to go with me to pick up the bountiful basket (the produce co-op we've been doing for several months now).

Everyone enjoyed the outdoors...chickens included. We've recently added five more chickens to our original "greats"...they are not near as great as ours, but we'll give them a chance (and since they are not near as friendly, we didn't bother naming them).
This one in the picture is either Ardis or Lois...Jonah loves getting close to them and petting them.

Christian is convinced that these flowers (aka weeds) are edible, and not only that, but they are DELICIOUS! He has brought Noah into this belief. It is quite hilarious.

It felt so nice to have this time all together...just a little taste of summer.
It was a good break.
