Ava turns 4!!!

Ava turned four on July 21st. She is quite the little girl; loves pink, shoes, and anything else girly! This year the birthday theme was My Little Pony. Lets just say the cake was pretty amazing, made by Alyssa!! We had a yummy taco picnic, followed by some yummy COLORFUL cake and presents for Ava.

Before supper we got to watch Maddox demonstrate his new ability to ride a bike! And the boys, Maddox and Kade showed off their new bunk beds..Grandpa had to try it out too.

Thunderstorm

The weather has been unusually calm the past several weeks for July in Kansas. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, its just surprising. Hopefully, we don't have to pay for it during August and September. The other night I got a picture of the lightning...it was an amazing show, the picture doesn't even come close to doing it justice.

What a good student :)

Ben is taking 2 summer classes, physics and music appreciation. They will both be coming to an end this week. He had to play a song in music appreciation last week, so I got out the ol' keyboard for him to practice. It was quite entertaining for me to teach/help him with the song. I was just disappointed I couldn't be there for the actual "recital" during his class!

baby shower with work friends

Kellie and Emily hosted the shower for me

Last Saturday my co-workers had a baby shower for Baby Hershberger and I, we felt quite special! It was at Kellie's house who just so happens to be our neighbor (4 houses down the street), my co-worker, and good friend. Here's a few pictures from the shower...we got lots of goodies that will definitely be used!!

Mom came too, she gave this baby quilt!!

Getting closer!

Baby boy Hershberger is now 34 weeks!!! Its hard to believe that a matter of several weeks he will be on the outside and in our home :) We have been more serious about getting things ready for his arrival. Here's just a few pictures of some of the projects we've been working on. Ben and Phil had textured the ceilings in the 3 rooms upstairs and 2 (the bedrooms) of the 3 are painted. Ben made 3 wallhangings for the baby's room...it matches the bedding we had got, and I'm excited to see the finished products on the wall. I attempted making my first quilt/blanket for the little guy. I finished piecing it together, and my mom is going to help quilt and bind it as I know she is better at that anyways and I'm not sure when I'll get it done! She is also making the valances for the baby's room...another project I thought I would do, but she is way faster and actually knows what she's doing. Obviously, I'm grateful for her help :) Ben put the crib together and refinished a dresser that Mom and Dad Sweigart had let us have. I'm excited for all these things to come together and see the final products :) Hopefully the "after" photos will be ready to take soon!
