The one and only...CMH are still quite the little boy.
Over the past few months, here are some things you have been up to.

In April, you helped me pick out flowers for our house. You were quite helpful. You'd ask what the name of the flowers were...your favorite were the begonias. Pretty hilarious referring to them for the next several weeks..."Oh, look at the begonias, aren't they so pretty?"
Then we went with Grandma...and you were MOST helpful. You would carry the flower to the end of the row and put them all in a box. There were LOTS of flowers to load up!
"Sure, I can handle it."....a common phrase from you!

You still sleep with your 2 blankets...and they HAVE to be spread out just so.
You have your certain CD (an instrumental Christmas one...year round of course!) that is played on "repeat". At bedtime, you generally like to be read as many books as you can try and convince us you need (we start with the idea of 5...and quickly eliminate them if you start getting pokey about getting to bed). And then you get a Bible story.. your favorite Bible stories are about "Joseph", "Daniel", and "Jonah". I am certain you could tell them in detail to someone that doesn't know the Bible.
You look so sweet and innocent and little when you are asleep.

You still remain a unpredictable eater. Few things are certain that you will almost ALWAYS eat. But everything else is kind of hit or miss. So, to prevent you from waking up too early on the nights you just really don't eat hardly will have a late night bowl of cereal (a 99% certainty that you will like and eat ALL of).
This particular evening, you were eating in the dark..with ONLY a bib on.

The next several pictures are in regard to you being quite the helper.
You are almost always eager to help out with various projects. And when its not safe to have you try to be VERY convincing that you can "handle it".

(In the garage) Painting the boards for the ceiling of the down stairs bathroom.

Mudding over the screws on the sheetrock.

Digging holes (not always "helpful") with his very own legit shovel.

If you are outside when Daddy is using the wear your ear protector muffs..and whenever you can, you like to combine the safety goggles with the ear muffs...and whatever other random things you can add to the ensemble. You look rather silly with your combinations sometimes!

Lately, you are LOVING getting in the pool. With your life jacket are a brave and very independent little swimmer. You love to go, go, go!!!

Here are some further things you say (sometimes quite often) or have said lately:

"Ahh, probably so....."

"You could probably take me to Grandma's house."
-"she's not there"
"Weelllll, you could go with me. I won't mind if you take me"

"Mommy, you can't go to work today. I will miss you too much!! You can just stay here."

"Well, I guess I could go with you. I don't mind if its boring....I like boring."
"I could help." "I can help you with the babies that are born."

Sings parts of "Hakuna Matata"....from listening to Pandora...."It's our problem free...phila-so-bee ('philosophy')..Hakuna Matata."
(There are many songs you sing throughout the day that you hear on the Christian toddler radio, Sunday School, and other various Pandora stations that I like). The ones that I like are really funny for you to try and sing, because you make up your own words for the ones that are hard to identify...but you have the tune down.

Almost everything is referred to in terms of how "fast" it is. Your shorts that have stripes going down the sides = "super fast shorts". Most shoes you have are "super fast"...and the ones you don't like to wear "but they are not super fast, and I cannot wear those to run in". Most toys can be in the ranks of "super fast"...especially all new toys that you just get. Even Noah's clothes are classified as "fast"....and you get jealous he has "fast" clothes on. Needless to say, we talk alot about fast things around here!

"Getty getty get you."
"Hey Noah, hey buddy, hey whatcha doin'?"

"No problem. I can handle it!"

You are very verbal most of the time. On the rare occasion that you decide in public you aren't feeling pull out the "I"m shy" card, and then actually say "I'm going to be shy".

"You know what I realized....."
(really hard for me to keep a straight face when you start talking like this...I mean, its like a grown adult has started talking inside your little 3 year old body)

"Can you turn the rear (pronounced with slight w sounds with the r's) on?"
--referring to the air conditioning in the van

"Can you hear the lions? My stomach IS growling, I can hear them? Do you hear them? They are very hungry!"

me: "Christian what are you doing?" ( I could hear a repetitive sound, but otherwise very quiet...and I was in Noah's room feeding him so I couldn't get up easily to check it out.)
you: "I don't want to tell you."
me: "Tell"
you: You come into Noah's room without your shirt on...and a big smile. "Oh, I'm just throwing my clothes up in the fan, and watching them FLLLLYY!"

Listening to Noah wake up on the monitor, I had said, "Oh, Noah..go back to sleep."
So you go over to the monitor and hold it real close to your mouth and start talking in if Noah will be able to hear YOU on his end. You say over and over, "NOAH!! Go back to sleep. Nooo-ahhhh, go to sllleeepp."

The lady sharing the children's story at church was telling the kids about how she participates in races...such as marathons. She was going on about how its great to have people support her, and cheer her on..she was wrapping up her story time and you decide to chime in and say,
"Yeah...and my mama rides her bike SO fast! She rides her bike faster than a CAR! She is SUPER FAST!"
Needless to say, I got alot of questions after church about my bike riding (especially comical for me, since I haven't ridden my bike in over a year!).

Outdoors with Noah

It was such a beautiful evening...I thought I would take a few pictures of Noah outside.
It is more of a challenge to get any by myself, due his desire to move (and complete disinterest in any normal toy I had brought for him to look at)!
So...naturally, I resorted to giving him a leaf..that was the closest thing I could grab.

After he was done exploring the leaf..he was pretty much done with the idea of sitting on a blanket.
He LOVES to that it was we did...for quite awhile!
And I just love his chubby little baby feet. They are so sweet...and clean..and feet are one of those things that don't stay either one of those things unless you are a baby!

Loving these beautiful evenings...

Noah [8 months]

Already 8 months old...

(blurry..but one of the only ones he actually sat still long enough to look at me!) are becoming such a big boy.
You are constantly on the move...I mean all.the.time!
Once you are set on the take off crawling.

Usually you go towards things that you shouldn't be getting into...your favorites are cords, shoes, corners of stairs, registers, and the piano pedals. I set around all your toys to try and spark your interest...but for whatever reason they just aren't nearly as exciting as those other things!

You are starting to eat a little bit more on a consistent basis. You don't eat necessarily alot at a time, but you're getting better about at least trying things. You seem to like the small pieces of things...puffs, sweet potatoes, peaches. And you really get excited about your sippy cup with water in gnaw on that thing like its candy! Often after eating, you need a bath...which you love! As far as when Daddy gets to give you a bottle while I'm at still like it crazy warm.

You love your brother....actually you just ADORE him. Your whole face and body perks up when he starts playing with you. And Christian loves to "get" you....he'll say, "getty getty get you!!!" as he puts his head or hand on your belly. And you giggle EVERY time. Its so fun to watch you two. Its not always calm and happy have a set of grabby hands on you. Your hands are good at grabbing toys, food, drinks, and hair...and you don't care who's it belongs to...if its within reach you will grab...and grab HARD!

(This was your very first time you went from crawling to sitting up by yourself!)

You can crawl quite well. You sit up on your own. Its so funny to watch you whip around your little chubby legs. You like to stand with our help...and are starting to like the idea of taking steps with our help. You think its funny to flip over when we change your diaper...and you are so proud if you get so far as to peak over the edge of the changing table with you head looking down at the ground.

You still don't have any teeth officially. The bottom left is peeking through..but it seems like this process just takes a VERY long time. I don't have a clue how much you weigh, it doesn't seem like you are changing in size too much from last month. You wear mostly 9 months clothes and size 3 diapers. Your hair is getting thicker and longer...and I think it often has a tint of strawberry blonde in it. Your eyes are still VERY blue.

You know your name. And you also know certain people. You like to play "shy" with turn your head and then look back at him. You have started to babble some...saying "", but not in correlation to any certain thing.

Your sleeping habits have gone backwards over the past month. Not sure if this is attributed to teething...or what, but I'm ready for you to spoil me with a full nights sleep again. Even getting you to go to sleep/nap has been a challenge. You no longer just lay down, pop your thumb in your mouth and fall off to sleep. When I lay you down, you pop your head up...make sure I'm still there...give me a big ol' smile and then start making your excited sounds in hopes that I'll pick you up. When I let you crawl ALL over that crib and get stuck in the corner. Silly boy..all this to say, nap time has been a bit of a game to figure out what works best. It's never THAT just make us work for it somedays.
Watching a baby sleep is so sweet...and innocent.

(You like to swing...and you feel asleep in there while I was pushing you!)

You tried out swimming for the first time on your 8 month birthday! You were pretty neutral over the idea...but you amused me by splashing around in it for awhile anyway. Even with sunscreen lathered all over you..I didn't think we needed to let your very white baby skin be exposed too long the first time out! Afterwards, you crashed in the pack and play that was in the shed.

Oh little Noah, you are my little sweetie. I love you so much. I love how your face lights up and you get all sorts of giddy when you want me to feed you...or when I come to get you from your crib. You maybe don't say words yet...but you can definitely express yourself!

Wheat pictures [2013]

Our annual wheat pictures...
I think our time spent taking these gets faster every year.
This year we spent maybe 10 minutes..maybe even less.
Its just the idea, I think the wheat is so pretty and this way we get at least one family picture a year!

I wanted one of just the boys...and this is how well that went!
Never mind, not worth it...poor babies :)
Noah started crying because Christian was crying so loud about the wheat scratching him.
Oh my.

They recovered...

Father's Day

These two LOVE their Daddy...

and their Grandpa!

Father's Day started a little something like this...
I made waffles with strawberries and whipped cream for the boys.
Ben is the only one that made it to church, Christian had a fever off and on since Friday night...and was  just not himself. He had one all through the night, so I thought we wouldn't give whatever he had (which we now know is strep throat!) to anybody else.

Then we went over to Mom and Dad's for dinner at noon...
grilled pork chops, pasta salad, jello salad, butterhorns, grilled veggies...
a delicious summer meal!

Noah's first father's day...he loves his daddy.

Dad with us...
missing Carissa.

Although this next picture is a bit was a favorite of mine for the day.
It shows Dad's true smile.
I love my Dad.
He's a solid guy...
he works like a super crazy man most days,
he's one of the most generous people I know,
he loves his family a WHOLE bunch,
he has a strong faith,
he'll give it to ya straight (even if you don't always want to hear it..but you need to),
and deep down, actually not even that deep..he's a big softy!
I tell ya..I love this guy...I'm happy he's my Daddy :)

We came home for naps (all three boys did!)..
and then Ben tried out his new grill (his father's day/birthday present).
I think we have many delicious meals ahead of us this summer with the help of this new addition :)

I'm very thankful for Ben...
he's a great daddy..
he's patient, respectful, and gentle..
he's a hard worker,
he's creative,
and he loves the Lord.
He is all these things,
but he also teaches all of these things to our boys.
They have a good role model,
and I'll be mighty proud if they turn out like their Daddy!
(goof ball and all :) )

Tuesday, June 18, 2013 style

Hi.. I'm Noah, I will be your workout instructor today.
Try and stick, with me...feel free to take a breather if you need to.

First, let's do some simple leg raises.

Next, let's move into down dog yoga position. Let's hold this pose.
Ahh...feel the stretch.

Next up, let's move into the plank position. Beginners, you can start like this...

When you are ready to advance you can bring you legs up too...

And these are a taste of the mountain climbers...difficult to do...but well worth it when it comes to a well rounded work out.

Whew! Strong work everyone. That's a wrap. Now for the cool down...
turn to your side and collapse!

Until next time!
