My fireman and sweet lil' pumpkin

He was "rescuing" Noah, because the pumpkin was starting to wobble, and I told him to go hang on to it. He moved his hands very slowly, an inch at a time around to the backside. I'm glad he took this job seriously!

We all went to a few neighbors houses...then Ben took Christian into town for a few more while Noah and I stayed home. Then we all went to Mom and Dad's for the last visit..and we all got treats there!

I'm pretty bummed I didn't get a picture of Ben..he dressed up too...as a big ol' bunny.

Pumpkin Carving

After all the baby excitement, we needed something that Christian could do that was special...
so we went outside to carve a pumpkin on Halloween.

I think his favorite part was just drawing all over the pumpkin with his very "special" marker

He wanted no part of digging the inside out.

Isn't it a beauty??

Hospital Favorites

We were able to go home in the evening. I'm glad I asked the pediatrician because we were both doing well and ready to be in our own home! So grateful for a healthy and safe delivery :)

Noah meets BIG brother

Christian meets his baby brother...
he was "excited" in theory, but wasn't so sure when he got up close.
When we told him that his name was Noah, he says, "Noah. He is so precious."

He didn't really want to give him a kiss...
this was the closest version to a kiss he wanted to give.

Our family...all FOUR of us :)

He's Here!!

Christian's conversations

I told Christian I was going to call Great Grandpa Birky and sing Happy Birthday to him.

"Well what about Great Grandma Birky?"
"Well, she is in heaven."
"Awwww! I want her to come back."
"Me too buddy. I would love for her to meet you. She would love you VERY much."

He just sweetly came over and gave me a long hug.

....................................................................................

I was doing something in the nursery, and Christian was getting out some of the baby toys.

C: "Will baby brol'er play with this?"
me: "Oh I think so."
C: "Oh, you're right. Will he share with me?"
me: "Oh, I think he will share."
C: tilts his head to the side and says, "Well, no. I don't think he will share. He will be a baby, and babies don't share."

.....................................................................................

I was laying down with him at bedtime.
And after a long time of silence he said, "Mama?? Are you still there?"
me: "Yes, I'm still here."
C: "Ask me if I'm still here."
me: "Are you still here?"
C: "Yes, I'm still here. I'm not going anywhere!"

......................................................................................

He was climbing on the window sill in the living room and I asked him to get down.
C: "Well if it's alright with you, I will climb up here."
me: "It's not alright with me. I want you to get down."
C: "....ya don't say!?!"
me: "I do say. Get down please."
C: "No silly billy...you're supposed to say, 'I DO say!!"

If you could see the facial expressions used in this conversation..it steps it up about 10 notches in making it really hard for me to keep a straight face with him!

God's Promises

Such a beautiful reminder of God's promises...

Pumpkin Patch [2012]

We went to the pumpkin patch on Saturday. It was QUITE muddy, since it had rained..but it was still a good time anyway. Nobody else was out there :)

Christian wanted no part of the mud...kind of strange for a 3 year old boy...but it was handy that his shoes and clothes stayed clean! So daddy was the pack mule..and lugged Christian and the pumpkins around through the mud.

We went over to say hi to the donkey...his name is Ted. Christian was a big fan, and it was entertaining hearing him talk to him like he was a person.

Ted's friend, Silky the horse, had to come over to join the conversation.

36 weeks

Feeling baby brother move...he's running out of room :)

Happy Birthday Ben [#28]

Ben turned 28 on Oct 1.
We celebrated with family on the 7th (Sweigart's) and the 13th (Hershberger's).

He hasn't changed his birthday meal request yet....so it was lasagna again :)

It was a beautiful day, so they played a little catch with the football before leaving.

With Ben's parents, brother and grandparents, we celebrated with a brunch.
Breakfast burritos, cinnamon rolls, pumpkin coffee cake, and fruit.

The color in this picture below is really odd..but I liked the picture anyway!

Happy Birthday Ben....we all love you!
