Easter

We enjoyed a bit an Easter egg hunt outside while the weather was still acting like it wants to be spring.

In the afternoon, we went over to Mom and Dad's to dye Easter eggs..while Ben and Isaac watched some of the NCAA basketball games.

Easter morning, we woke up to snow. Its becoming more common to have snow on Easter than it is on Christmas. Silly silly weather. We went to Mom and Dad's church in McPherson, followed by the noon meal at their house. These boys sure cleaned up...pretty happy I get to be surrounded by such handsome men.

After a delicious ham dinner, we had an indoor Easter egg hunt...for children young and old.

The older the boys get, the more and more they can verbalize their thoughts on why we celebrate Easter. It is one of the most amazing parts of being a parent, seeing them grow physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. So neat. And the other part of that, is in turn how much they make me grow; physically...haha, well...4 pregnancies did help in that area...emotionally, mentally (those buggers are smart!), and the most pleasant surprise spiritually (their innocent questions really make me look at what I believe in a good way).

We had a good Easter. Always glad we get to celebrate openly and freely the death and LIFE of Christ! He is ALIVE!

He is Risen

He is RISEN!
I love Easter...I love what it means, and that we have such a special reason to celebrate!

One way we celebrate is by dressing up...
and I get to call all 5 of these handsome fellas mine!

We went to church, and then to Mom and Dad's for the afternoon.

Isaac's first Easter!

We had a delicious meal and later we all participated in an Easter egg hunt outside.

To complete the afternoon, we celebrated Dad's birthday (which is tomorrow)...
he even got a bunny cake :)

Grateful for the gift of eternal salvation and the reason we have that is
all because of Jesus. Happy Easter!!!! (And Happy Birthday Dad!!!!)

Easter [2016]

Christ died for us, much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved.
Romans 5:8,9

In the middle of the night, Jonah woke us up. As Ben came back to bed, he said you have to look outside, you won't believe it.

This is what I saw...

When we woke up, the boys were all very surprised as well.
It was Easter! And it snowed, ALOT! It was beautiful though.

As I was walking around outside, it was so pretty.
One of my favorite songs came to mind...

O! Precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

There was a broad scope of faces and noises going on during these pictures...
Noah especially, oh my goodness.

After church we went to Great Grandpa and Grandma Hershberger's house for an extended family gathering. It was nice to see who could make it, it had been awhile since the Christmas gathering was cancelled due to snow/ice.
The boys were entertained...
Grandma H hid Easter eggs in the house for the boys, and Great Grandpa got out the marble run.

We came home for naps. Then hid Easter eggs in our basement, before heading over to my parents house for supper.

We had another delicious meal at Mom and Dad's...and had this very festive cake for dessert.

And of course we had an Easter egg hunt for ALL!
It will be a sad day when we are "too old" for that.
The weather actually was really nice by the time late afternoon/evening came, but it was too muddy to do the hunt outside.

What a wonderful day we can celebrate that Jesus is alive, and He died for US!
What a gift. I love that both Christian and now Noah, verbalize the reason for Easter. They have such a genuine desire to learn about the Bible, and love to share the stories.

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once and for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
