Isaac [ 2 years old ]

My baby Isaac, you are TWO.
You are still my baby, don't get me wrong, but your actions are far from baby-like. You are full blown toddler mode. Full, if not over full of personality. You are sassy to the max, ornery, playful, and yet so so so funny.

Let's just start with your face.
I mean, you don't say a whole lot in forms of sentences. You say words, some only we can interpret. But you're not trying to go above and beyond in your vocabulary yet. However, you are excelling in facial responses. If you are displeased in any way to something, you do not hold back a reaction with your face. I could have countless pictures of this, but I feel as though you get the idea. Whenever you meet someone for the first time, or are unsure of someone in general, you mean mug them so bad. Although, you will do that to us as well, if you are just thinking you want something and we're not giving it to you in a timely manner. This may be something you'll have to work on in your near-ish future, or perhaps start using words to relay what it is your thinking.

You don't necessarily play with a favorite "toy". You play with things that are indeed NOT toys, but you want to hang onto them anyway. Tongs, toothbrushes, googles, or anything you may find that your brothers had been playing with. Oh, and the domino in your hand was your 'phone', as you would put it up to your ear and say, "ellllo??" You just like to have at least one thing in your hand to hang onto while you are going about your business.
I will say, you do LOVE to be read to, and you could go through book after book. "Buh"= book. There was a night not very long ago, that you woke up in the middle of the night, and INSISTED I go out to the living room to read you books. I'm not sure if you were dreaming about them or what. You were crying so hard, and then pointing to the living room...then said "buh" over and over. And sure enough, you stopped crying the second I got to the bookcase and got out the book.

I took only you to the store one evening. I saw this head costume thing, and put it on...and then you wanted me to put it on you. You kept in on 90% of the time we were in Walmart...I was literally laughing out loud at you!! You were just jabbering and laughing underneath there. But by golly, you were REAL ticked when I took it off to put on the belt to pay for it. You cried so hard, and even continued to cry after I gave it back...as if the damage had been done and it was irreparable.

You are such a helper, I just wish we could focus your quick abilities to be more productive.
Standing on the dishwasher, helping yourself to dirty dishes, as I'm trying to clean off the dishes from the table.
Clearing off my closet shelves of folded clothes, while I'm in the bathroom for a minute.
Providing artwork for another closets shelves. For that one, I had noticed blue marker marks on your hands as I laid you down for a nap...but no sign of a marker left out nor any markings...until I saw this! No more mystery there.
You are also a fan of clearing off bookshelves and distributing all over the floor.

You are like a playful puppy.
This was at Grandpa and Grandma's house. You repeatedly wanted to be shut in the linen closet by the dining room table. And every time we would say, "where is Isaac??" You would giggle and open the door laughing. And then, you'd immediately want to do it again and again, with the exact same response. Then Mitchell "hid" with you, and you made him do it again and again. Oh you loved it!

You were given your own type of craft while your brothers were doing something else. Surprisingly, you did really well with putting the beads on the pipe cleaner...and stayed content with it for a little while!

You are just so silly.
You have discovered Noah's old glasses (he wears them sometimes when he jumps on the trampoline or plays rough). When you get them, you want to wear them, and think its so funny. It is. It's also crazy how much you actually look like Noah did when he was two wearing that style of glasses!

You love your brothers.
You have the most interaction with Jonah, simply because the two of you are home during the day while your older brothers are at school. The two of you get along 'most of the time'. You both show affection on your own will...randomly wanting hugs and/or kisses. It melts my heart heart every time. You can also get into some interesting arguments...chasing and then wrestling. Not too surprisingly you are almost able to hold your own.
You are a solid boy, despite your eating habits. You are extremely picky...you REFUSE to try 99% of table food. You like baked oatmeal, bread with peanut butter (cut up only), cheese pizza (Papa Johns only) and pancakes. Otherwise your diet includes daily smoothies (made of spinach, a mixture of fruit, yogurt, juice, and collagen for protein), yogurt (we have been giving you almond milk yogurt or soy yogurt..but are going to try and see if you can handle normal yogurt, peaches, bananas (when you are in mood), pouches (The store-bought baby pouches so I can get more options of vegetables and fruits...since you can't see them. Although even with these you are picky. You'll look at the front of the pouch to see if it a kind you like..if you've not had a certain brand, you won't eat it.), Bevita protein bars, and then a variety of snacky stuff (you don't have a problem with that of course!) And when I say you won't eat something or you're picky. Its not like you just kind of fuss about it. Its just a flat out refusal no matter how creative or insistent we get. I think if I could just get you to TRY some of the things we have, you would actually truly like them...so I won't give up on you mister.

 You are ornery.
During a car ride you were hanging onto your horse..and then sticking the legs up your nose. Everytime I would say, "Issaaaaaaac....stop it," you would giggle so much! You'd look at me, with those eyes that you get when you know you're doing something you shouldn't...and you'd repeat it over and over.

Other facts about you as a 2 year old:

-You still have blonde hair. The hair that is coming in, is a light/medium brown...so I'm sure it won't stay blonde for too much longer. Your eyes remain a bright blue! You and Noah have the blue eyes.

-You have sensitive skin...and we've finally found a cream that has cleared it up for the most part. After trying to eliminate gluten, and dairy, etc...I think the Cerave brand is the ticket for you.

-You are 31.6 lbs, 35.25 in long...which is pretty significantly different than any of your other brothers at this age. I don't know if that means you will be taller/bigger as an adult or not, but thats just what it is for now. So you are wearing somethings that Jonah was wearing last year...which is just  kind of amusing.

-You love bath time. You willingly take naps 98% of the time. You love your blankie (you got another one very similar to your favorite for Christmas, so now you sleep with BOTH). You love to look at animals (not always the reality of them if you are next to them).

You say "Mommy" "Daddy" "Jo-Jo" = Jonah, "Papa" = grandpa, "Me-maw"= grandma, Christian and Noah each after some kind of mumbly jumbly names but I don't know what they are. You understand WAY more than you speak. It is clear as far as how you follow directions.
Other words that you say: "Abre" = open (which is truly the Spanish word for open, he just always says it like that)
"Eb-bee" = spider (I don't know why, but he does it for itsy bitsy spider) and he does NOT like things that look like spiders if they even look remotely real
"Miy" = milk (he drinks almond milk only still, he doesn't like regular milk and it also upsets his stomach quite a bit)
"Coo-Coo" = cookie, I legit think this may have been his first word. He loves himself cookies and anything sweet like a cookie "I ah coo-coo" (I want cookie)
"Buh" = book
"Bye-bye", "Hiiii"
"Tane-schoo" = thank you, that's a popular one...he doesn't ever just say it once.
"Pease" = please, he also signs this one
"Mine" = no problems with this one!
"Yes" = you say it so cute. Its so proper and kind.
"I ah...." = I want ... (I ah a pouch = I want a pouch....and you will proceed to try and get one from the cupboard.)

You are picking up more and more words daily. Sometimes I think its the only way that you are seemingly staying a baby just a teeeeennny bit longer, is that you don't talk alot yet. I know you will in no time, and it is what it is. But its crazy how that will make you seem even older once you start taking off!

Isaac you are a true delight. A true handful. A true playful little boy. And I love you!
