Spring Break [ last day ]

This week was spring break for both Christian and Noah. We kept it pretty low key and didn't have too many expectations. Other than going to Topeka for a day, we stayed home. We decided to do one "fun day", and went to Wichita. The weather was cool and windy, so we decided to stay indoors...rather than going to the zoo or something.

I must say..this is the second part to our day..the first part is worthy of a separate post all together. Two words: Picture Fiasco.

Moving on, we decided to go to Exploration Place, the theme right now is Rescue which the boys really like. Climbed this area, had various fire rescue type things, a mock jet ski rescue, they also played the castle area, and the airplane area that has been revamped from last year.

During this picture of Noah checking out the food chain of deep sea animals....
Christian was building with the Keva planks (there's hundreds and hundreds, and he loves them!), Ben and Jonah were checking out the area near-ish but not within eyesight of this, and I was pushing Isaac in the stroller. Noah says right after I snapped this, my tummy doesn't feel well...I asked if we needed to go to the bathroom..no. So about five seconds later, he pauses, looks up at me and says, "I have to go poop right now! So I am all but literally running full force with Noah while pushing Isaac to the bathroom, we make it in time...and as I'm waiting for him, he proceeds to loudly explain that "boys just take a longer time to poop, that's just how it is!" He was just finishing, and the fire alarm goes off. Meanwhile, I had no idea where the other 3 of our family were...and there were plenty of other people that had the same idea to visit today. Thankfully, when we were walking out of the bathroom, it just so happened that Ben, Jonah AND Christian were all together and walking towards the exit and were just getting ready to pass by us. It all worked out. The boys didn't seem to be bothered by the fire alarm, except Christian who kept getting his shoes stepped on. We headed home after needing to exit the building anyway.

Jonah could not hang a second longer when we got home.

Spring Break [ Topeka Visit ]

We took a day trip up to Topeka to see Ben's parents. The boys played with Legos while we were at their house, and after lunch they took us to the nearby zoo.

The sloth had recently had a baby, and she was carrying it right on her neck. The baby's face is just under the mama's face.

It was a beautiful day. Both the zoo and park close by had many things the boys loved to climb on.

After supper we headed back home. It was a full and fun day!!

Brent :: 40

I had to do a post with these pictures...they make me laugh too much not to!
We celebrated Brent's 40th at Mom and Dad's house on the 11th....and also at Mitch's shed on the 17th. They had a live band and yummy snacks/drinks...it was a really good time!

40 years....looks good..or something anyway!
This picture of Noah is ridiculous..almost creepy...but mostly funny.

He's a fun uncle. Never know what you're going to have to put up with...but most of the time it brings a laugh and a memory.

We had a fun time celebrating with you, Brent! Happy 40th!!

February Days

February...

Building, building, building.

Christian is MORE than ready for warmer weather so he can wear shorts..hence the rolled up sweats and no shirt! Oh my.

Lots of love for sweet Isaac..its so sweet. The part that maybe doesn't excite me quite as much is the repeat demonstration on how to get in and out of the crib.

Oh his happy little laugh, it fills me with joy.

Jonah is developing more and more of a personality...
funny, sassy, and just his own little boy!

Noah, some days I don't even know what to say to you!

Eating some of their valentine treats!

Mama and Christian at Donuts with Mom and school!

Isaac! You are for sure becoming a more active toddler...and getting into just about everything.
I guess if you're going to make a mess, you might as well look super cute while doing it :)

My little Valentines

It's fun to do the valentine-y goodness. I especially loved Noah's excitement this year, he LOVED making notes and putting our own valentines to each other in the mailboxes on the shelf. He was genuinely happy to make them and it was just the cutest thing.
(This one was made for Isaac from Noah)

He remembered we made Duplo Lego hearts last year, and made this big one super quick. His memory is crazy good..and he is very good at building.

We had to make Valentine cookies!

There's always a bit of frosting clean up after this :)

Noah filled out all his valentines for preschool...dinosaur inspired.
Christian's valentines were pencils...saying "You're the Write One"

These FOUR are my very special valentines!
(My main valentine treated me special today as well...the best chocolate balls and a massage in Wichita. Just delightful.)

Valentines Day may be over-commercialized..."but its worth celebrating, life is too short not to celebrate a special day to show love." --Ben
