Mama's Day

My dear sweet boys..
I think somehow they missed the memo on treating their mama extra "special" on this day. Nevertheless, they are my boys, I love them dearly..and it doesn't take a special day to make or break the fact that I get to be their mama.

It was high school graduation today as well, so Ben was gone for a bit this afternoon. In the evening, we had supper at Mom and Dad's with the rest of the family.

And...it was also Mitchell's birthday today...it was a day of reasons to celebrate!

I took a video of the drive home from Mom and Dad's house..it was simply comical.
All four boys were crying, very loud, SUPER unhappy..it was a summary of the day for sure, but man, it was funny.
Being a mama is not always easy, not always full of 'feeling' loved, it has tears (on both ends), but it is more rewarding than anything. I really can't believe we have FOUR boys...
they are beautiful and perfectly imperfect, and I wouldn't trade being their mama for the world.
So Happy Mother's Day!
And aren't those flowers and "boy" decor so sweet from Ben :)

Mother's Day [2016]

Mother's Day..
a very special day to feel totally blessed I get to be a mama to three little boys, and to be thankful for my own mom and all that she does!

We went to church at Whitestone with Mom and Dad, and Mitchell too.
Then, Mitch offered to host us all at his house for lunch. He made ribs and salmon on the smoker...very good. He also made a baked macaroni and cheese and rolls, Ben brought a salad, and Mom brought dessert.
It was a rainy day..very rainy. But for a little bit it was nice enough to go outside and take a couple pictures.

This little guy...he came with us right after church, and the other two had gone with Mom and Dad.
So he got his picture taken in his fancy duds.

Oh my boys. I love them so.

I love my mama.

They were both wearing orange checkered shirts..it was necessary to take their picture :)

In the afternoon, Ben's parents came over. They were in town to celebrate with the Hershbergers..but we didn't make it to that one this year. We had a nice visit with them.

I had been treated very special all week, by Ben especially...he bought me several of my favorite kind of drink from Lincoln Perk, he got me a new jacket, and a new shrub plant, and some wireless headphones that sync to my phone. I also got some VERY special cards made by the boys..hearing them make them, was equally as special as the cards themselves. They had told me I had to stay in my room while they made them, and Christian was writing out Noah's for him. So he would say, "What do you like that mama does with you?? Do you like when she hugs you? Reads to you?"
Christian had brought home a flower from school for me, and Noah gave me one from Sunday School...
so I'd say on ALL kinds of levels, I feel very blessed, loved, and spoiled.

Blessed Mama

Mother's Day...a good day to feel extra blessed.
I have my three little boys, each so special to me, each a gift from God.
I have my Mom, I am so grateful for all that she is for me and our family...she is my mom AND my friend.

We went to church in the morning, it was a very rainy morning. As we driving to church, it REALLY rained. As we sat in church, I decided that was 'church' for me...to listen to the rain and thunder...there was just an awesomeness to it.

After church, we briefly stopped at home, then headed out to John & Chris's for the Hershberger family gathering. They host every Mother's Day, a very special tradition.
We had their homemade brick oven pizza, salad, and sausage empanadas...and homemade pies for dessert (I had the rhubarb, SO very good!).

Jonah enjoying being held by Grandpa and Grandma H.

 Ben and his Mom

Christian played in the rocks/puddle in the driveway most of the time. Noah roamed around, petting the cat and dogs whenever possible. And Jonah did really well just being held.

We got home mid afternoon...Ben took Christian and Noah to the grocery store to get things to take for supper.
We went over to Mitch's house for supper. He made fajitas, which were tasty.
The men got the food around and cleaned up...treating us very nice.

The Kansas mamas...

Thanks Mitch for hosting...

Being a mother is one of the greatest gifts I have been given.
From the instant I knew they were growing inside of me, and then again when I saw each one of them, my heart grew and overfilled with love and joy.
I hope they will each feel my love and support now and always.

And to my Mom...I love you very much.
From the little things to the very big things you, I appreciate you and the love you show.

It was a good day.

Mothers Day [2014]

 Mothers Day.
Its a day I feel so blessed to have my two little boys that have made me a mama. And also a day to be reminded how special my mom is to me!
Ben had gone to Topeka Saturday to help his parents move into a different house...so he was at least able to see his mom on Mother's Day weekend! We are quite thankful for her too!

This year we just did one mother's day celebration. We went to Mitch's house after church. He grilled us some very tasty kabobs with steak, chicken, and shrimp. Ben made the angel food cake...and strawberries. We spent the early afternoon there. It was quite warm..but also EXTREMELY windy, so it made it next to impossible to play games outside!

This was the best picture with the both of them I got for the day.
Love them both...definitely have changed my life forever!

We were matching...hence just the three of us :)

 The mamas

(We were missing Carissa for these photos...I don't know why she couldn't have made it for the meal...its only a "short" drive?!)

I love my mom.
Couldn't imagine life without her.

It's an extra special feeling to have another little baby that will someday call me mama growing inside.
So thankful for these blessings...so thankful.

mothers day

I really love being a mama.
Christian has filled my heart with joy from the day he was born.

I felt special and loved this mother's day. Ben made me a BIG breakfast (it was quite thoughtful..I couldn't manage to eat most of it, but it was very nice) and he gave me a mother's day/birthday gift which I have been enjoying daily. It's called a Squeezebox..a form of radio/internet radio, that's portable. I love having music in the background while I'm in the kitchen or in my "craft" room.

After church we went to John and Chris' (Ben's uncle and aunt in Inman) for dinner.
They have such a pretty place..and always good food!
Christian wasn't all about taking pictures..but here are a few attempts nevertheless.

We came home, laid Christian down for a nap..and I enjoyed being outside! I even went for a run, and Mom met me with the 4-wheeler. It was a BEAUTIFUL day. Mitch was in VA visiting Carissa. So the rest of us enjoyed the afternoon and supper celebrating with MOM!

I really love my MOM.
