May 24th was our first anniversary already! Since I had to work, we didn't "celebrate" yet, but this coming weekend we plan on going to Kansas City for a night away. This past year has gone by quite fast..and much has changed with our lives!! We continue to be blessed :)

First Anniversary!!
May 24th was our first anniversary already! Since I had to work, we didn't "celebrate" yet, but this coming weekend we plan on going to Kansas City for a night away. This past year has gone by quite fast..and much has changed with our lives!! We continue to be blessed :)
Around the house
Well the weather has been beautiful, which makes working outside an option. Last summer/fall we weren't able to finish the trim around the windows in back of the house, so I've almost got that done now. It makes it look so different.
We were also able to get the shed we had bought over a month ago into our backyard finally. It was a bit of an ordeal to get a company to do it (for a reasonable price)..and apparently (I was at work) it took 4 hours, several trucks, and several workers to get the job done. We're glad it found its home in our backyard, and Ben assured the company it will be retiring here after they told him not to call them to move it again :) It needs a little TLC, a few new shingles, scraping/priming, new paint, and some help around the edges...but it will definitely be nice to have more space to put "garage" things.

Happy Birthday Mitch!
Happy Mothers Day!
I'm so glad to have my Mom. She really is a special woman (in a number of ways!). Many people may say over the years relationships with parents change for obvious reasons, but this is a good thing. Its a transition from feeling like a child, to becoming more of a friend (for me anyways). I feel blessed to have her around to ask questions to, to help me out, or to just talk to. Thank you for putting up with me Mom :). Hopefully my skills at motherhood are one of the traits I inherited from you.
And although Ben doesn't really write on here..I want to also thank Diana (Mom Hershberger) for being the mom she is...without her I wouldn't have my husband! I'm glad to have a thoughtful mother-in-law :)
Peace

This picture was taken outside Stanley and Shirley's home last summer. If there was a title for this, I think it would be "Coming Home".
My aunt Shirley went home to Jesus on May 1st. Although I wasn't there with her, I am in awe of the peace she had prior to leaving us here on earth. I can only imagine what heaven is like, it must be truly amazing...
At the funeral, it was different than just a time to mourn. It was a celebration of her life and how she lived for Jesus. Shirley will be missed and I pray daily for Stanley and the family. I know she is at peace in heaven, and watching down from above.
