Another new project!

Ben tore out the deck last summer, and its getting refinished now!
His parents and Sam came down to help for a day.

It was a really nice day, so the boys and Diana played in the sand pile most of the day.
Nice/warm enough water even got involved!

Glad for the extra help...and some fun playing outside! Excited to see what the new deck will look like, and be able to walk out on it!!!!!

Lovely Day

I have some pretty special loves in my life...

Noah had a party at preschool. I asked if he'd like to wear something fancy for his party, and he agreed that was a good idea!

How do you do?
I just can't help but think, oh my what a fine young gentleman he will be :)

And it is this little cutie's very first Valentine's Day!

We stopped at Grandma's to share the love...
our visit wouldn't be complete without a book!

When Ben came home, I gifted him this shirt (to complete the set)...it was just for fun as a joke, since he's really not a fan of Valentines Day. The funniest part, is that since I ordered this in the middle of the night when I was up feeding Isaac, I obviously didn't pay attention to which color I was ordering in which size (I flip flopped them!).

After school, I let the boys make chocolate drizzled pretzels with sprinkles on top.

And for supper, we ate festive finger jello and pizza while having a movie night!
We watched Trolls, a valentine gift from Grandpa and Grandma.

We had a lovely day....
my heart is full.

Isaac [one month]

Isaac, one month old and you already certainly found your place in our home.
You are the baby brother to three very proud older brothers. Each has their own relationship that they are forming with you.

Christian is the least outwardly vocal or physical about his love for you...but every evening at bedtime he asks to hold you when he gets tucked in. He talks to you and then gives you back. Noah will tell you about 50 "secrets" everyday. He will get REALLY close to your ear, not even in a whisper, but mouthing words in your ear. I've asked him what he tells you, and its often just information he thinks you need to know..ie...about his stuffed animals and toys. Jonah is the biggest surprise as far as how he connects with you. I thought by his personality he would be very jealous and have issues with you getting attention. Oh no...he is the your #1 fan, he checks on you constantly, pets your head with the side of his cheek, gives you MANY kisses on the top of your head, and asks "where Isaac?" if you are not within his vision. We all love you VERY much.

You don't have a lot of activity...you get held alot! If not held you are usually in your vibrating chair (minus the vibration as Jonah will not leave it alone and runs down the battery!) or laying on a blanket on the couch. We've tried the swing a couple times, but its just 'alright' for now. You are quite cuddly, and there is nothing like a snuggly little newborn laying on your chest...one of my most favorite things!

3 days old ------ 3 weeks old

A few of my favorites over the first month of you!

[10 days]

[2 weeks]

[3 weeks]

[4 weeks]

You breastfeed every 2.5-3.5 hours pretty much around the clock.
You have smiled at me (4 weeks) ...several times, but not all the time just yet.
Just switched over to size 1 diapers, and you wear a combo of NB/0-3 mo clothes.
You are not a fan of sleeping by yourself. At night, we switched from attempting the pack n' play to laying you in the vibrating reclining baby seat. You will sleep, but not always restful at night...and usually I or sometimes Daddy will sit with you in the reclining chair just so we can all sleep. I have hope that you'll get it figure out :)
You love being held, you still tuck your legs up so you're a little ball like you were in utero.
You take a pacifier over half the time when you are just fussy and not hungry, the other half...you get real mad about the idea of a plastic device in your mouth!
You do NOT like your diaper or outfit changed...oh my goodness, you'd think that was the worst part of life!
You like your baths, and will stay alert and awake for quite awhile after it.
You have beautiful blue eyes and light brown hair, and you now weigh 10 lb 8 oz.

Isaac Jesse

Isaac Jesse Hershberger
arrived Saturday, January 7, 2017
8 lbs 6 oz --- 19 1/2 in long
5:47 am

Friday around noon, I started having regular contractions. I have had many many many contractions this pregnancy. So, this wasn't anything too new or exciting. Around 3, they became stronger and stayed that way. By about 5:30, we decided to take the boys over to Mom and Dad's. We got some things around, and they still stayed regular and uncomfortable.

We got to the hospital around 7:30 or so. My dear friend Kellie met us there and had a room all picked out for us :) She has been there for the other three boys...and agreed to hang with me one more time! I told her I have been telling the baby to behave :)

After she checked me, I sat up, and my water broke. I was dilated to 4, but he was SUPER high still. They broke a fore bag around 9:00, I was a 6 by 10:00. Then he had times of 'misbehaving' with his heart rate...but not bad enough that we couldn't start some pitocin (as he was still VERY VERY high). So at 11:00 started pitocin, and by 11:23 I had gotten the epidural. Those pitocin contractions are no joke. My friend Crystal came in on her night off, just to receive that baby...as I had been changing and in the past it goes pretty quickly when I'm complete.
Well...not this little man. I was complete by 2:00, but his head was still WAY to high. I pushed for a about 30 minutes, but his heart rate was not having it, and he wasn't coming down. So we took a break, I changed positions ALL over the place (yes, even with the epidural)...and after an hour and a half, he came down enough and equally as important his head turned to the right position as well! I started pushing at 5:40 and he was delivered at 5:47...as a tight fit! But he came....oh what a happy happy moment!

So much joy and relief. I couldn't believe he actual came, and he was healthy! Mama loves you so much Isaac.

Ben hung in there with me :) With Isaac's heart rate not always cooperating and it taking much longer than the other boys..he was equally as relieved to see him on the outside!

He ate well right away, and was very alert for a long time! We called to tell some very important big brothers that they could come see their new baby whenever they were ready. Mom and Dad brought them up by late morning.
It doesn't seem real that all FOUR of these precious boys belong to us!
We are so blessed by each one.

Isaac Jesse, I am so glad you came when you did. You are just perfect.
Happy BIRTHday sweetheart!!
