v.a.l.e.n.t.i.n.e.s

A couple of pre-valentine fun activities....

a heart-shaped sun catcher made by Jonah (and Isaac....sort of).

Instead of frosted sugar cookies, we made a couple of other goodies.
Rolo Pretzel Bites (pretzel square, with a Rolo on top, and the boys are topping them off with an M&M).

And then chocolate dipped pretzel rods...with sprinkles.

While his brothers were working on their valentines for school, Isaac had his own Valentine business to tend to. It was serious. His mean-muggin game is strong, trying to show me his no mercy face with those blue markered lips.

If nothing else, filling out Valentines is a great way to practice writing your name :)

The night before Valentines Day, Noah informed me he won't be having dessert tomorrow because he will have lots of treats during the day. I didn't really say much as I was helping Christian finish up his Valentine container for school the next day. So when I go to tuck Noah in, I see this note "No Dsrt tomruro" taped to his bedside. :)
Me: "What is this?"
N: A reminder, so I don't forget.
Me: "Why can't you have dessert?"
N: In the most sincere, yet utterly disgusted way he said, "becaaaauuusse tomorrow is Valentine's Day and we are going to have SOOO many sweets during the day!!!"

(Its a shame he can't be so passionate about eating a balanced diet..or even just any vegetables, at all!)

My little Valentines!!!

Noah wanted to wear his outfit..complete with a bowtie.

I helped with the Valentine party in Noah's class. He was right..there were plenty of sweets/treats throughout the day!

We had our traditional pizza and movie night (Storks..thanks to Grandpa and Grandma) for supper. Papa John's made it for us this year...I contributed the heart shape Jello.

I love these little Valentines...and the big one too (who I didn't even get any form of picture of...but he's my favorite!)

My little Valentines

It's fun to do the valentine-y goodness. I especially loved Noah's excitement this year, he LOVED making notes and putting our own valentines to each other in the mailboxes on the shelf. He was genuinely happy to make them and it was just the cutest thing.
(This one was made for Isaac from Noah)

He remembered we made Duplo Lego hearts last year, and made this big one super quick. His memory is crazy good..and he is very good at building.

We had to make Valentine cookies!

There's always a bit of frosting clean up after this :)

Noah filled out all his valentines for preschool...dinosaur inspired.
Christian's valentines were pencils...saying "You're the Write One"

These FOUR are my very special valentines!
(My main valentine treated me special today as well...the best chocolate balls and a massage in Wichita. Just delightful.)

Lovely Day

I have some pretty special loves in my life...

Noah had a party at preschool. I asked if he'd like to wear something fancy for his party, and he agreed that was a good idea!

How do you do?
I just can't help but think, oh my what a fine young gentleman he will be :)

And it is this little cutie's very first Valentine's Day!

We stopped at Grandma's to share the love...
our visit wouldn't be complete without a book!

When Ben came home, I gifted him this shirt (to complete the set)...it was just for fun as a joke, since he's really not a fan of Valentines Day. The funniest part, is that since I ordered this in the middle of the night when I was up feeding Isaac, I obviously didn't pay attention to which color I was ordering in which size (I flip flopped them!).

After school, I let the boys make chocolate drizzled pretzels with sprinkles on top.

And for supper, we ate festive finger jello and pizza while having a movie night!
We watched Trolls, a valentine gift from Grandpa and Grandma.

We had a lovely day....
my heart is full.

Loveliness

Valentines Day and the days surrounding it are fun to do lovely sort of things.

He liked this one..shaving cream and food coloring.

And I had two little 'helpers' to make sugar cookies.

We waited to frost them until Christian came home, so Noah and he could frost most of them.
There were lots of sprinkles involved, and plenty of sticky frosting to clean up...but they enjoyed themselves!

I believe that is a HUGE yawn, Noah!

This was a very tiny heart, piled high with sprinkles from Noah.

Noah and I made heart Lego creations

Heart pancakes were loved by all, except Jonah

Who knew Play Doh could be so lovely

Handsome little boys...
oh how we love you.
