A little bit of paradise...[mexico day 2]

We ate breakfast around 8:30 every morning. They have such nice service and food, the waiter saved our table for us so that we could all eat together. Then out to the beach!!

They played together nice most of the time. They shared their beach toys..and had fun in the giant sandbox!

I love this picture...

I have no idea who these people are..I just thought it was too sweet how they held hands as they walked along the beach, and then they got in and they still held hands. I can only hope that we can do that in another 50 years.

Grandma giving Kade and Christian a snack after their beach naps.

There was alot of seaweed for some reason, and they had several workers working at burying it in the sand. This came in handy to borrow a shovel to establish the sand pile for the sand castles for the remainder of the vacation.

Sand castle #1:

We went up to the pool late afternoon. They had a round of chicken fights....hilarious picture.

That evening we ate at the Mexican restaurant. It was good! I got a little carried away with pictures..but here are a few of them...

And the most exciting part of the evening for the kids...the kid show! They ALL participated!
It was pretty entertaining to say the least :)

Leaving on a jet plane....[mexico day 1]

I have been counting down the days since Mom and Dad told us they were treating all of us to another trip to Mexico. So excited!! We left bright and early Friday morning, along with 1100 other people at the airport that morning that were flying out in the 2 hr time frame. That seems a little crazy for Wichita...see if you recognize anyone in this video clip from the local news that morning.  Two seconds of fame!!

Anyways, we made our flights (literally running to get on both of them, in Wichita and in Houston). Christian did pretty good on the plane ride, he especially liked the turbulance, "wheeee, I like that!"  while we were getting into Houston.

We were meeting Carissa and Tim in Houston for the final flight to Cancun. After a seriously jammed packed ride on the tram, we were all running to get to the gate..I was carrying Christian (saying, "I don't like going this fast!")...looked over and the Gredlers were running next to me..funny way to meet up with each other!!

We made it down to Cancun about 11ish. After a bit of a luggage issue we made it to the resort and were enjoying the wonderful sun rays and water by early afternoon! Ahhh, yes, this is what I was so excited about! Everyone together...the beach...the warm sun....SO GREAT!

Christian's first reaction of the ocean! When we were here 2 years ago, he wasn't exactly thrilled about it.   He loves it now though :)

A long day..mid afternoon siesta in the sand. Ben actually was resting his eyes...Christian is just copying him!

That night most of us called it a night earlier than normal. We had a full day, and it was only the beginning of several more :)

My loves

We have had a good day. We made Daddy a heart shaped scotcharoo..

and took it to him while as we met him for lunch date in McPherson.

And then we went to his first grade classroom to meet his kids...
they were a little excited!

and they wanted Christian to join in the picture...

We had a good day..I do love my boys :)

Doughnuts and Aprons

We had a craft day...
it consisted of making doughnuts (not exactly a craft..but we'll just include it in the special day!) and making aprons.

Mom cutting out the doughnuts

rise baby rise...

after taking a dip in the fryer...they either were glazed...

 or sprinkled with sugar...

these two little men were busy watching show..
Kade's face cracks me up!!! He looks so serious..or mad..but I don't really think he was either.
They had a nice helping of fresh doughnuts when they were done..they both enjoyed them quite a bit :)

Then onto the craft...Mom got fabric for us to make aprons out of.
It was a fun project..I'll have to get a picture of the finished look :)

I'm a clown!

We've had a rather mild winter.
I personally am not complaining.
Not get me wrong, I don't mind snow. But really, I'm not too sad that it's been warm enough to play outside comfortably.

We got a BIG bubble stick from a friend's birthday party.
So I let Christian try it out...boy was it SUPER fun :)

Then of course we needed to play in the sandbox for awhile..

And then he said, "I'm a clown!!!" (and promptly displayed this face!)

You are a clown..a very silly one!

I have a job to do.

Christian has been hit or miss on naps lately. Not something I really am enjoying..but usually if he lays in his crib for over an hour and he's still talking or singing I figure he really must not be too tired. Yesterday was one of those days, and I needed to go to work, so I went in to get him out so he could play a little before I left.

I expected to see the little face beaming, standing proud in his crib when I opened the door...
instead I saw this...

(besides the messy room) there is SOMEONE out of place here.

He didn't seem in the least bit phased by the fact that I was staring at him, while he was singing and promptly carried on with what he HAD been doing for quite some time...
emptying the entire box of kleenex's into his crib.

I said, "Christian, what on earth are you doing and how did you get up there??"
His response..."I have a job to do." As he demonstrated the "job" of dropping yet another kleenex into the crib.

Seriously.
Obviously, I didn't praise him for his job well done..
but I suppose that in a 2 year old's world..it was indeed a mission accomplished.

The crib rails will be transforming SOON!

Oh my goodness..as in right now. In the 10 minutes it took me to do this on the computer, he was taking his "nap" and wouldn't you know who is standing next to me letting me know "I'm up! I'm up mama!!" without me going in there!

So I guess I have a job to do now.
