Dress Up and Eat Candy

Noah ready for preschool the day before Halloween...
he went as a Lego Inventor! (that is what you call last minute costume idea..but it worked!)

Isaac's first halloween...such a sweet little pumpkin.

We worked up a costume that Noah requested the day of...
he's a ROBOT!

I had to work, but Ben took them all to eat with at Great Grandpa Bergey's as Grandma H. was there too. Then he took them down our street, and then to Grandpa and Grandma's house.
This year, we had an astronaut, a moon, a robot and a pumpkin.

Halloween

Halloween was a very warm day...I think upper 70's!
We had three little chipmunks: Alvin (Jonah), Simon (Noah), and Theodore (Christian)

We usually go to the Villa first...it is entertaining and enjoyable for everyone (them and us!).
The boys got more than enough goodies from the residents.
Jonah was so pleased with his sucker he got!

After the Villa, we came back to a few of our neighbors houses. They are always so kind--and give way more than necessary. And lastly, we ended at Grandpa and Grandma's house, where everyone is spoiled with treats!

Then it was back home to tuck these little chipmunks into bed!!

Halloween [2015]

Oh, halloween. What a silly little 'holiday'. I really dislike all the creepy things, devilish stuff, and all that junk that it brings.
But it is fun to play dress up for an evening, and go visit some people that like to see cute kids..and get far too much candy :)
This year we had a...
Lion, Tiger and Bear! oh my!!

The sweetest little lion...Jonah.

The silliest tiger...Noah.

And a gentle bear...Christian.

We went to our ol' standby stops..
the Villa, Mitch's house, a couple neighbors houses, and Grandma & Grandpa's house.

A sleeping little lion..

While we were at Mom and Dad's...Mitch stopped over on his way to a party...
hilarious! He dressed up like Dad in his previous years WAY back!!

Halloween [2014]

Christian got to dress up in his outfit for preschool.
He is Turbo.
(If you are unsure who Turbo is...he's a cartoon racing snail in the movie "Turbo")

And Noah...my little cowboy.

It was too chilly for him to be unwrapped outside,
Jonah...my little pumpkin.

We went to the Villa late afternoon. I think we were about an hour late...last year we went a bit earlier before they were all eating, and we could see more of the residents. Either way, it was good (and we ran into our friends the Hofstetters in the parking lot). We also stopped at Paul and Brenda's before coming back home for supper.

We came home to eat supper. Then, we went to a couple neighbors houses and drove into Uncle Mitch's house.

We finished the evening at Grandpa and Grandma's...the best of all...they feed the adults too!
Mitch, and Brent & Alyssa and kids all came over too.

My big marshmallow and little pumpkin

We don't get to hyped up over halloween.
But it is fun to get dressed up in a silly costume and go say hi (or trick-or-treat) to people we know.
This is the first year Christian had an opinion on his outfit.
At first he wanted to be a rocket ship, then an astronaut, and then...he said, "I know. I want to be a marshmallow!" Done. That was it...a roasting marshmallow it is...I think he said this at lunch when we was eating, looking out the window in our backyard where we have had several campfires including roasting marshmallows this fall.

And as far as Noah goes...I found this at a thrift store for cheap..and that was that :)
Funny to think last year, he was 5 days old..and fit INSIDE a pumpkin..and this year he is a very active and growing pumpkin!

I must say, they were a pretty cute pair if I do say so myself..both of them had an element of soft and fluffy!

A dancing marshmallow...
I think he was dancing to the song, "Do the Twist" as we had just heard it on the radio earlier in the day. Noah thought it was pretty funny.

We went to a couple of our neighbors...we have such good neighbors. Then we went to the Villa. That was my favorite. I had no idea they would actual have the residents handing out candy...I just thought we'd go by and show off the boys in their little costumes. And to top it off..this is a picture of our dear "friend" that we see EVERYTIME we go in to D'Angelos at lunch to eat. He always has a smile on his face and says hi to us. Christian always goes up to him and shakes his hand and says "hi, how you doin' today?" It makes my heart happy.

We stopped by Uncle Mitch's house.
He had a GIANT gorilla at his house...both boys were very amused by him.

We made a few more stops...
and for our final stop we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house...
always fun treats there!!

our candy corn

We don't really get into Halloween. This year, whenever Christian would see a pumpkin carved at all...he would say, "ooh..scary. I no like Halloween." I'm not too crushed that he's not a big fan. I did teach him to say "trick or treat" which he did pretty cute...and then I'd tell him to say, "here is my trick (and spin around or something) and this is my treat (and blow a kiss)"
We dressed him up like a piece of candy corn and made about 4 stops. That was just right..and the ending stop we stayed for supper and met some other lovely trick-or-treaters. We'll have to go to that place again next year :)

..at our house..

at Uncle Mitch's house.....and lastly at Grandma and Papa's house with the cousins!
