baby shower with work friends

Kellie and Emily hosted the shower for me

Last Saturday my co-workers had a baby shower for Baby Hershberger and I, we felt quite special! It was at Kellie's house who just so happens to be our neighbor (4 houses down the street), my co-worker, and good friend. Here's a few pictures from the shower...we got lots of goodies that will definitely be used!!

Getting closer!

Baby boy Hershberger is now 34 weeks!!! Its hard to believe that a matter of several weeks he will be on the outside and in our home :) We have been more serious about getting things ready for his arrival. Here's just a few pictures of some of the projects we've been working on. Ben and Phil had textured the ceilings in the 3 rooms upstairs and 2 (the bedrooms) of the 3 are painted. Ben made 3 wallhangings for the baby's room...it matches the bedding we had got, and I'm excited to see the finished products on the wall. I attempted making my first quilt/blanket for the little guy. I finished piecing it together, and my mom is going to help quilt and bind it as I know she is better at that anyways and I'm not sure when I'll get it done! She is also making the valances for the baby's room...another project I thought I would do, but she is way faster and actually knows what she's doing. Obviously, I'm grateful for her help :) Ben put the crib together and refinished a dresser that Mom and Dad Sweigart had let us have. I'm excited for all these things to come together and see the final products :) Hopefully the "after" photos will be ready to take soon!

Surprise baby shower!

I was very surprised when the "girls night" with Carissa, Alyssa, Mom and I were going to have last Tuesday night turned into a SURPRISE BABY SHOWER! We played games, ate food, and opened presents! It was so fun with everyone that came, I just felt so special (and I'm sure little baby Hershberger did too). Thanks to Carissa, Alyssa, and Steph who put it all together :)

Sweigart lake vacation

Last week we went to Beaver Lake in Arkansas with all the Sweigart family. I've looked forward to this vacation since I found out months ago.

Thursday night we celebrated Alyssa (June 9), Carissa (July 2), and my (June 1) birthdays. It was Alyssa's 30th, so we had a special game dedicated to her, involving 30 activities that had the number 30 in it somehow.

Friday we all spent time on a pontoon on the lake. The boys spent the majority of the time with the jet ski and the BIG tube that Dad had bought. I was quite jealous, most years I spend the majority of the time on the jet ski or tubing...the doctor had told me jet skiing was not an option for me and baby Hershberger.

Every night we had very tasty suppers and usually played some kind of game before going to bed. Sunburns and all, we spend Saturday down by the lake swimming/fishing and later enjoyed s'mores after supper.

Sunday we had our own version of church which is always memorable and then packed up to head back to Kansas.

Reading to the kids before going to bed.

Maddox, Ava, and Kade exploring outside.

i love wheat!

I have a thing for wheat fields..don't know why, but I do. So, the other night while we were at Mom and Dad Sweigart's for supper, Ben and I went on a four-wheeler ride down the road and took some pictures. I was impressed with Ben's photography skills (he doesn't really care to take pictures that often)! Mom came down to the end of the road to take the one of both of us :)

celebration in KC

We thought we'd get away for a weekend for our anniversary, so we went to KC the weekend following our anniversary. It was a successful getaway for both relaxation and finding a baby crib! We went shopping Saturday afternoon, then ate at Figlio's Italian Restaurant,

and stayed in the Embassy Suites Hotel near the plaza. Sunday we ate breakfast at the hotel (which was a good sized complementary breakfast with eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc) and then walked around the plaza before heading home. It was a good weekend!!

I didn't buy these..aren't they sassy (and huge) though??
